Approximately 11 1/2" long
This adorable plush mermaid commemorates the historic visit of Miss Virginia X, the mermaid, who came to Port Henry in 1941!
Miss Virginia X came to town in the Pan-American Train Show, a sideshow carnival that traveled the entire country by rail. She was in the company of a 68 ton whale, a giant octopus, live penguins, and a flea circus!
Legend has it that she was so taken with our beautiful lake, and had such a good time with our resident lake serpent, that she returned here after her tour. Some say that on still summer nights you can hear her laughing while riding Champ through the moonlit waves.
This delightful plush mermaid is made in a retro cartoon style, with big pie-cut eyes, black and white color scheme, bee-stung lips, and vintage hairdo.
For ages three and older.
